Addison's Elmo Birthday Party

We had Addison's 2nd Birthday party yesterday. It was, of course, Elmo themed!!! I did a hot pink and orange Elmo theme and I love the way it turned out!

We had a couple more game ideas planned but we didn't get around to doing them. The kids were having way too much fun swimming!! 

These were the party favors. We got the backpacks from Hobby Lobby, 1 at a time so we could get them at 40% off. And then we embroidered Elmo's face and the kids names to them. I wish I would have gotten a pic of the entire goodie table. It was set up so cute!!

All of these goodies were stuffed into the backpacks. We found them for $1 each at Kohl's and Target.

I didn't get a picture of the snacks either :( Next time I'll make sure to take pictures of everything as we set it up!!

I have been trying them out and they are so cute!!! My go-to is the side pony because it's fast and easy, plus I can do it on the run!! Here is a picture of one of the pigtail styles I did on my little Addison last weekend. And hopefully I'll get to try them all while on vacation this week!

Mommy and Me Journals

I found this pin on pinterest (I would link it up but its not valid anymore :/) of a Mommy and Me Journal. I just KNEW I needed to make them for my older girls. They love journals!!! And why not encourage them to draw and write about things on their minds!!! So I decorated journals for each of them and left them on their beds. They LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! I am going to start writing some questions in there for them to think about and answer. And maybe with it being summer, I should put in some math/reading problems to get them thinking and having fun at the same time!

I took pictures of the covers of their journals to share with you! I went to our local scrapbooking store and gathered up some supplies that fit their personalities!!!

Aren't they adorable?!!! Now I need to mod podge them before they get messed up!!! And mainly because Addison may or may not have ripped off the butterfly on Tori's journal already! :( My little monster!!

Monster High

The twins wanted a Monster High Themed birthday this year. I decided to make them cupcakes and some cute Monster High Themed toppers! I tried to make zebra cupcakes but they just turned into marble cupcakes instead. Which was fine, because they told me "that's our favorite kind of cupcakes!!" Cupcake Fail = Best Mommy Ever Award!!! Here is a picture of the toppers...

Pocket Treasures

So, its cold this week here in Texas. Next week could be a completely different story. But yesterday I got out my "heavy" jacket for the first time this "Winter" Season. I found a bunch of stuff in my pocket ;) I wish I had found some money, that is always nice. But I did find something that made me smile and tear up at the same time. Here is a look at what I found in my jacket pocket.

 A pink and zebra baby hat - this is what made me smile and tear up. It doesn't fit Miss Addison's head anymore because she is a big girl now....sniffle sniffle

Thanksgiving Plans

What does everyone have planned for Thanksgiving? We are staying home this year and eating dinner with my husband's family. No big travel plans. We are in charge of cooking the turkeys (we fry them YUM YUM), stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pies and homemade applesause (bc my kids and I LOVE it!!). Then I am planning on getting up super early to go shopping on Black Friday with my Step-Mom.

This weekend I am working on 3 new tutus, so make sure to check out the store next week!!! I already have 1 tutu in the store...want to see it!!!!

New Food Friday

I'm back with my first New Food Friday. We tried this recipe on Sunday and we LOVED it!!!! I made some lobster cakes and hush puppies to go with it and it all came out so tasty!!!

You can find the recipe HERE. I didn't do any lemon zest and I used limes instead, because that is what we had. I should have added some Tony's or Slap Your Mama.....but I forgot :/ Next time for sure though!!! 

I am going to try and redecorate my blog this weekend. Its needs a revamp badly!!! And I'll be back next week with some more fun stuff!!!
